At this year’s Bid’s for Kids Gala, we rallied support for a critical initiative that strengthens both our students’ learning experience and our school community.
Our Fund‑A‑Need goal is $60,000 to enhance classroom technology and improve school safety. We are especially grateful to the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) for partnering with us - when we raise $50,000 for technology, CSCOE will contribute an additional $25,000 in matching funds, amplifying the impact of your generosity.
Be sure to watch our fun and comical video, The Catholic School Office, featuring talented student and staff actors who bring this important mission to life.
We are committed to transforming classroom learning through essential technology upgrades that support our mission of forming students in faith, knowledge, and virtue. With your support, we will work towards:
Replacing 230 outdated Chromebooks (approximately $300 each), ensuring students have reliable access to tools for research, writing, collaboration, and digital learning.
Replacing 21 SmartBoards (approximately $3,500 each) with modern interactive displays that foster engaging, dynamic, and collaborative instruction. These upgrades will strengthen teaching and learning across our school and support the growth of every student.
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for every student, staff member, and visitor. Funds will enhance campus safety through:
Updated monitoring and communication systems
Improved secure entry points
Enhanced safety equipment
The presence of a security officer at school Masses

HEAR WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
StMCS Grandparent
"Attending the Bids for Kids Gala was truly inspiring. The energy was contagious, the night was beautiful, and I left feeling excited and grateful. I’d absolutely encourage other grandparents to attend - it's a wonderful experience and a meaningful way to support the kids we love.”
StMCS Parent “Bids for Kids is a night packed full of fun, friendships, faith, and a celebration of pride. We attended Bids for Kids for the first time when our oldest child was in kindergarten. At that time, we barely knew any school families and felt pretty nervous about going. But when we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly that all the nerves disappeared. Five years later, the people who sat with us at our very first Bids for Kids have become some of our closest friends. Bids for Kids is now our favorite event of the entire year."
StMCS Parent, Alum, Bids Sponsor
"Bids for Kids is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the amazing families in our school community - people who will walk alongside your family for years to come. It’s also our school’s largest fundraiser, and the impact of the event extends far beyond a single night. The ways this event strengthens our school, enriches our children’s experiences, and builds our community are countless."
StMCS Teacher & Parent "The support and sense of community throughout the night make me incredibly proud to be part of such a caring school. The funds raised directly impact our students by providing excellent teachers and valuable resources. I encourage all parents and teachers to attend - it's a wonderful way to celebrate our community and connect with one another."

Each spring, our school proudly presents Bids for Kids (B4K)—our largest fundraising event of the year—with every dollar raised directly benefiting our students, teachers, and staff. This beloved tradition is fully coordinated by a passionate team of parent volunteers dedicated to its success.
Our team of volunteers will transform the St. Michael Catholic Church’s gymnasium into a beautifully decorated ballroom. Guests will enjoy a lively evening of friendly competition through our silent and live auctions each bid directly supports our students, which is how the event earned the name “Bids for Kids” many years ago! Beyond the excitement of bidding, attendees can look forward to an unforgettable night featuring an open bar, a delicious dinner, raffle opportunities, fun games, an inspiring program, and dancing to live music.
The money raised helps provide our children with a wonderful Catholic education by supporting investments in classroom enhancements, extracurricular activities, and ensuring we can retain our amazing faculty and staff. We are grateful for the support in that makes this event a success and for helping us continue to provide an exceptional education to our students.
Our theme this year is “A Legacy in Full Bloom” which celebrates our school’s 150th year of providing exceptional Catholic education.
We welcome all St. Michael Catholic School current and past school families, parishioners, local businesses, sponsors, and community members for an unforgettable evening of fellowship, delicious food, entertainment, and lively bidding - all in celebration and support of the transformative gift of Catholic education.

There’s only one thing better than attending our wonderful Catholic school and that is attending it for FREE! One of our favorite B4K traditions is the annual tuition raffle. Another B4K raffle we coordinated in past years was called “Kids with Bids” or “B4K Basket Extravaganza”, where students could buy raffle tickets or donate money to try to win various theme baskets. Unfortunately, due to Minnesota gambling laws, we are unable to continue coordinating these types of raffles that involve minors.
We are taking a pause this year and will not be selling the $100 golden raffle tickets for the live auction, as it wasn't as profitable as we hoped the last couple of years. In addition, we will not be pre-selling tickets/chances for heads and tails, 50-50 (split the pot), and other games. This year, we will only be selling tickets for these types of games and raffles during the B4K Gala. The reason why we will not be offering pre-sales is because of your good feedback from last year. We want to prevent confusion and avoid tickets from getting lost or unused.
