As we commemorate 150 years, we give thanks for those who have helped build and sustain St. Michael Catholic School: the religious sisters, pastors, teachers, parishioners, and families who believed in the mission and made it a reality. We honor the past, rejoice in the present, and look to the future with hope - continuing to form young people who are truly Living for Christ and Learning for Life.
Join us throughout the 2025-26 school year as we come together to celebrate this remarkable milestone and reflect on the legacy of our Catholic community and the educational excellence that has defined StMCS for generations.

HONORING OUR PAST
OUR STORY
Catholic education in St. Michael began in 1876, when 12 students gathered in a modest schoolhouse led by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. Over the years, our school grew in size and spirit, expanding to meet the needs of our parish and families.
Though the buildings have changed and generations have come and gone, our mission endures: to support parents in the education of the whole child by instilling Catholic teachings, nourishing faith in Jesus Christ, and strengthening individual commitment to holiness and academic excellence.
Invest in the Future of Catholic Education in St. Michael!
For 150 years, St. Michael Catholic School has stood as a testament to faith, sacrifice, and community vision. From its earliest days, local families built not only for their time but for generations to come. As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, we are proud to launch the St. Michael Catholic School Annual Fund, with a goal of raising $250,000. Your contribution will directly support our students and sustain the mission that has guided us since 1875.
Together, we can ensure that St. Michael Catholic School remains a vibrant place of Christ-centered faith and learning for generations to come.
“Blessed Heritage. Bold Future” captures
the deep Catholic
roots of this faith community, which predates the city that
shares our name. As
the largest and most visible ministry of our church, St.
Michael Catholic School
is a major part of the blessed heritage that began here in the
mid-1800s — and as our
community continues to grow and change, no doubt our school
will be essential
to the vibrant faith life of St. Michael for decades to
come!
