VOLUNTEERING at STMCS
- Volunteers are Essential at StMCS!
  
  The spirit of St. Michael Catholic School is a direct result of family involvement and support! Expectations for participation in fundraising efforts, school events, and other opportunities are designed to ensure that all families contribute to our success while sharing in a fun-filled, joyous community.
  
  VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP
  All families are expected to volunteer for a minimum of 10 hours. More information about volunteering will be emailed to families on August 10.
  
  Volunteer sign-ups will open on August 17. Watch for an email with the link.
VIRTUS TRAINING
- All employees and volunteers at St. Michael Catholic School are required to complete and maintain safe environment credentials through the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
1. Create Virtus Account or Login
- I have a Virtus Account
  If you have a Virtus account, please check your status online at virtusonline.org. If all squares are green, you are compliant. Any red squares need to be completed before you volunteer. If you are due for a new background check, please complete the form online.

  I do not have a Virtus Account
  In the first list you will need to choose the Archdiocese of St.Paul and Minneapolis. It is quite a way down the list.
  Choose St. Michael Catholic School in St. Michael (do not choose St. Michael Catholic Church). Again, you will need to scroll down the list to find our school.
  You will then be able to setup your account information.

2. Background Check
- You should then receive a prompt to complete an online background check. If you already have an active account, please check that your background check remains valid and has not expired.
  
  Prior to beginning your background check, please review this document which outlines the selection you should make at the bottom of each page. Pay close attention to pages 7-10 where you will have to choose "next" instead of "submit", and then choose submit again on page 11.
  Answer all questions completely.
  Once completed choose "submit". ("Print and Save" will not submit the background check.
  Do not back out of any screens as it can freeze your process.
3. Complete Training
- You will be asked to complete the online training which includes videos and questions to answer.
  
  Please note, the background check can take up to three business days. Please remember, you will not be able to volunteer until all of the above components are completed. Upon completion, you will be in compliance for three years.

HOW TO REPORT ABUSE
- Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis Office of Ministerial Standards and Safe Environment partners with Canvas Health, an independent and professional local care provider, to offer confidential, compassionate assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at (651) 291-4497.
